Ingredients:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans cherry pie filling (20 oz each)
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, melted (1½ sticks)
  • Vanilla ice cream (for serving)
  • Red candy melts (optional, for heart garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and spray a 9x13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Spread the cherry pie filling evenly onto the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. Sprinkle the chocolate cake mix on top of the pie filling and spread evenly to cover.
  4. Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, making your best attempt to spread it out evenly over the entire surface.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until set and the top is lightly golden.
  6. Remove from oven and cool for 15 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

To make Red Hearts (optional):
Line a cutting board with wax paper and set aside. Add a handful of candy melts to a resealable sandwich bag but do not seal. Microwave for 30 seconds at 50% power. Flip the bag over and repeat. Knead the bag and microwave for 30 seconds more at 50% power. Knead until smooth. Snip the tip of the bag and pipe hearts onto the wax paper. Let set to harden.

Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
